Coach Stores: Flagships, Shops and What to Look For
Tapestry’s annual report shows that Coach closed its 2026 fiscal year, on 27 June 2026, with 973 stores it operates directly. The split is 336 stores in North America plus 637 internationally. A separate figure in circulation, about 1,299 stores, refers to all of Tapestry’s brands as a group, not to Coach by itself. Looking ahead, Tapestry has reportedly signalled that around 50 net new Coach stores are in the pipeline for fiscal 2027, with roughly three quarters of them located outside North America. Flagship Coach House locations, everyday full-price boutiques, concessions inside department stores and Coach Outlet stores all form part of the network. Searching for a coach store can therefore turn up quite different formats, from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. Below, the best-documented locations are covered city by city, with a note wherever a store’s current status still awaits confirmation.
| Location | Store format | Status in September 2026 | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| New York, 685 Fifth Avenue | Coach House flagship store | Launched in 2016; planned move to 645 Fifth Avenue targeted for 2027 | Use the store finder ahead of a visit |
| London, 200–206 Regent Street | Flagship Coach House | Opened in 2016 | Craftsmanship Bar reported |
| Tokyo, Ginza | Flagship boutique | Reportedly reopened in December 2025 | First Japanese flagship goes back to 2002 |

New York: The Coach House on Fifth Avenue
New York, where Coach was born in 1941, houses the brand’s most famous flagship. Launched in the fall of 2016, the Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue was timed for the brand’s 75th anniversary. Developed with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield, the store was reported to span about 20,000 square feet on three coach floors. Coach has reportedly taken a lease on about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach House, meaning the existing address is not a permanent base. Coach has pencilled in 2027 for the intended move, while David Yurman is reported to have leased the 685 Fifth Avenue space with an opening expected in early 2029. Whether the current store is still trading on a given day has not been confirmed, so look at Coach’s store locator before travelling specially. Listed on the locator as well is a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards, near Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.
London: The Coach House on Regent Street
Opened in 2016 as a global concept store, London’s Coach House stands at 200–206 Regent Street. It was also created with Studio Sofield, which gives it a clear kinship with the New York flagship. Reports from the time mentioned a Craftsmanship Bar where items could be monogrammed and personalised. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly need around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks with exotic skins, with a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag reported as well. One retail-district listing displays a much later page date, which has led some writers to state the wrong opening year. On its August 2026 earnings call, Tapestry noted that the UK, together with some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has material penetration, as a published transcript records. If you want a personalisation appointment, check which services are currently offered before visiting.
Tokyo and Ginza
For Japan, Coach’s flagship sits in Tokyo’s Ginza district. The store, updated in 2015, dates back to the first Japanese flagship, which opened there in 2002. Coverage of the relaunch says that the studio CURIOSITY reimagined the store, which reopened on 19 December 2025. Selected Japanese stores reportedly take part in the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange, which makes Japan important for services too. Canvas pieces and outlet items are reportedly not accepted, whereas the scheme accepts gently worn all-leather retail bags. As it was not confirmed which Japanese stores participate, contact the store before bringing a bag along. As with every flagship in this guide, hours and services are best checked shortly before a visit.
Greater China: An Old Shanghai Record, Plus Hong Kong and Chongqing
Next to New York or London, Coach’s large stores in Greater China are more patchily documented. A flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010, according to a record that is now out of date. There was no way to verify its current status, so the Shanghai store should not be taken to be open today. Coach has also been reported to operate a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. The opening dates of those two stores also remain unverified. The annual report shows 637 international stores among Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, yet it gives no city-by-city list. Older press coverage is no substitute for Coach’s local store locator, so visitors should use the locator when planning a visit.
UK Boutiques and Concessions
Coach’s UK store locator separately points to full-price stores outside Regent Street, at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. Other London locations take in St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf. The Bullring in Birmingham is home to the documented full-price store away from the capital. In-store concessions inside Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted, also carry Coach. No stores were confirmed in Manchester, Edinburgh or other UK cities, so check before presuming a local branch exists. This list covers the documented full-price options at the time of writing for anyone looking up coach uk locations. Each listed store has its own page on Coach’s UK website, which is the safest place to confirm hours and services.
Coach Outlet Stores
Rather than being independent discounters, Coach Outlet stores belong to Coach’s own network, and the store locator marks them as outlets. Outlet shopping centres are the typical setting for the stores, and Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common in the United States. Verified Coach Outlet stores in the UK are at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. York Designer Outlet is less certain: a store there has been reported but not confirmed, so check ahead before making the trip. Outlet stock is partly made specifically for the outlet channel, and the only share figure found, around 85%, comes from 2014, so today’s mix remains unknown. Alongside earlier-season styles, outlet ranges can also include some full-price collection product under the reported “One Coach” strategy. Before a coach outlet trip, check current offers first: promotions change, and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified.
What You Will Find Inside a Coach Store
Small leather goods, clothing and shoes are shown next to the current handbag range inside a full-price coach store, where handbags take centre stage. The Tabby first appeared in 2019, the Brooklyn followed in August 2024 and the Empire Carryall in February 2025, and the three are among the recognisable bag families in 2026. Spotted US prices put a Tabby 26 at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450, but these are prices observed in the market rather than an official price list. Some stores also participate in the (Re)Loved trade-in, which runs in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores. One membership spans both formats, as Coach Insider, the free loyalty programme, reportedly covers both Coach and Coach Outlet. A receipt from a Coach store is useful proof of where a coach bag came from, particularly since Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise. Leading the creative side is Stuart Vevers, still Creative Director in 2026; his appointment was announced in June 2013.
How to Plan a Visit
Especially while the New York flagship prepares to move, a little preparation spares you wasted journeys. The best first step is Coach’s store locator for the country you are visiting, since it keeps full-price stores apart from Coach Outlet locations. When seeking a trade-in, confirm that the store in question participates and that your bag is all leather and not canvas. For personalisation or made-to-order services, check beforehand whether the service is available. On 1 January 2021, tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain ended, so visitors to Britain will find no VAT refund to plan around. Save every receipt, because it documents where a bag was bought if questions arise later. Offers change often, so check current promotions before a long journey to an outlet centre.
- Consult the store locator on the day you travel.
- Check that the store participates in trade-ins and that your bag is eligible.
- Personalisation appointments should be booked ahead.
- Keep a receipt for each purchase.
